Paul Washer on Presuppositional Apologetic

Spot on! Listen to this!

“You don’t have to defend a lion. You just need to let the lion out and defend himself.” ~ Spurgeon

“Even if you are smarter and even if you beat me in a debate, I’ll still believe in Jesus Christ. My faith in the LORD Jesus Christ is not based on my ability to defend him. I know Him!”

“I can argue with an argument. I can’t argue with a changed life.”

Proclaim Christ! Preach the gospel!

  1. The question for amateur internet apologists and budding Christian Philosophers is… do we believe God accomplishes what we can not, by the simple proclamation of His Word? “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” -Isaiah 55:10‭-‬11 KJV
It’s not our job or within our capacity to “convince” people to believe the Gospel. Paul said “thru the foolishness of Preaching”. Jesus said it’s the Holy Spirit who “convinces” of sin, righteousness and judgement to come.
Problem is most Christians are no longer willing to “look foolish” or be thought of as fools for simply preaching and proclaiming the Gospel. But if we’re honest and consistent… that’s exactly what we will do, “suffering the shame and contempt” for Christ in the eyes of an unbelieving World that God would do the convincing and God Himself would change hearts, not just “win arguments” on social media sites. Cheers. Jesus is STILL Lord. – Barabbas
