Pornography Robs You!

Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

Romans 6:16-18 ESV

Christian, when you watch pornography you give your mind away, your person, and yourself. Pornography is deceitful freedom. A prison without shackles. It seems that you are a winner when you watch pornography but you are giving away something that is precious: your mind. It is a mind-eating habit. Mindset leads to strong practices to customs. Pornography places the mind in bondage to sexual passions that lead to sinful practices which eventually characterize a custom.

"The mind recognizes and experiences a valuable substitute. The valuable substitute is then preferred and demanded by plenty and influential users in a community. Valuable substitutes results to strong practices that identifies a community, resulting to NEW CUSTOMS." 

If you are trapped in pornography and you wanted to be freed by God’s grace, you need to go against the tide of bondage. To recover your entire life from the slavery of pornography, understand the wickedness of pornography and how it is an affront to the majesty of God and the beauty of His creation. You need to go back to where you started. You are an imago Dei, created and blessed by God. God created humanity with value in God’s sight. Much more so, you are valuable in God’s sight because His Son shed His blood for you.

God’s way is not to provide a valuable substitute but a personal substitute. It is through personal representation to create a new person. To understand that our humanity was represented by the eternal Son; that He took our sin and bear the wrath of God, and His perfect righteousness is given to those who believe; that God justifies the ungodly in Christ when Christ took our guilt; that The ONLY SUBSTITUTE for sinners has united sinners to Himself, is to understand that a new person is the solution to your problem of pornography and not simply a new mindset.

This is what you need. As a Christian, you cannot simply find an alternative substitute to pornography, you need a personal substitute. You need Christ!

Now, Continue in Christ. He is the only valuable and supremely precious substitute who can replace your old evil habits and renew your minds. You cannot change your customs without a change of mindset. CHANGE IN CUSTOM REQUIRES A CHANGE IN MINDSET!

Believe in His promises, and abide in His loving arms. Continue in knowing Christ, and be more captivated by His amiable character. Stay strong in times of temptation. Be quick to refuse temptations to indulge in fleeting pleasure and be content in Christ.

In watching pornography, you already sold yourselves to a lifetime corruption of the mind. Flee from it! Renew your mind in Christ!
