Ang ika-siyam na utos ay:
Exodus 20:16 ABAB "Huwag kang magiging sinungaling na saksi laban sa iyong kapwa.
Mahalaga sa Panginoong Diyos ang pagsabi ng katotohanan dahil Siya mismo ang katotohanan (John 14:16). Nararapat na salaminin ng tao ng Diyos ang katapatan ng Diyos ng katotohanan. HIndi sinungaling ang Diyos at ito ay salungat sa Kanyang katangian. Itinuturo ng luma at bagong tipan na ang Diyos ay hindi nagsisinungaling (Titus 1:2, Numbers 23:19), kaya nga naman ang mga tao ng Diyos ay dapat na maging tapat na saksi hindi lamang sa Diyos kundi maging sa ating kapwa.
Ang pagsisinungaling o pagsabi ng hindi totoo ay hindi isang magaan na bagay, ito ay may mabigat na parusa sa Bibliya, at katangian ng Kaaway ng Diyos buhat pa sa pasimula (John 8:44, 1 John 3:8). Napakahalaga na maituro ito sa ating mga anak: ang maging matapat sa kanilang mga salita dahil ito ay binabanggit nila sa harapan ng Diyos.
Ito ay gabay sa mga magulang sa pagtuturo gamit ang Katekismong Baptist para sa mga bata.

Q.104. What is the ninth commandment?
A. The ninth commandment is, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
Telling the truth is important to the LORD our God because He Himself is the truth (John 14:16). The people of God must reflect the faithfulness of the God of truth. God does not lie and lying is contrary to His character. The Old and New testaments teach that God does not lie (Titus 1: 2, Numbers 23:19), which is why God’s people must be faithful witnesses not only to God but also to their neighbors.
Lying or not telling what is true is not a light thing, it has a heavy punishment in the Bible, and is characteristic of the Enemy of God from the beginning (John 8:44, 1 John 3: 8). It is very important to teach this to our children: to be true to their words because they speak them before the presence God.
