LORD’s Day #10 (2022)

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Luke 18:13-14

The tenth LORD’s Day this year shows God’s covenantal faithfulness to His church. Heavy providences happen within God’s paternal care for the church. Our church is now Herald of Grace Covenant Bible Church of Cavite (formerly Salitran Covenant Bible Church). Whatever situation the church goes through, it is for the maximum glorification of God that His people may find their ultimate satisfaction in Him. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

Excerpts and Lessons from SCBC Pulpit

At the last day, such of the saints as are found alive shall not sleep, but be changed; and all the dead shall be raised up with the selfsame bodies and none other; although with different qualities, which shall be united again to their souls for ever. (1689 LBCF 31.2)

(HGCBCC Sunday School)
Christ alone is the Savior. He is also our only Sustainer. The righteous falls seven times but he will rise again. Look"The gospel is the sole provision to the serious problem of sin. Believe Jesus for the authenticity of His claim (the God-man) and sufficiency of His work (blood and righteousness)."

We can stand on the promises of God. We cannot finish the race alone. We have God's manifold promises in the Scriptures. We are not left alone:
- We need the power against sin. Rom 6:14
- We need to be cleansed from sin - Eze 36:25

- We need peace that only God can give - Is 26:3
- We need supporting grace - 2 Cor 12:9
- We need supply in grace - Phil 4:19
- We need growth in grace - Hose 14:5-7
- We need persvering grace - Psalm 37:20-21
- We need wisdom - James 1:5
- We need guidance - Isaiah 42:16
- We need God's presence - isaiah 43:1-3, Titus 1:2

(HGCBCC Morning Message)

The gospel comforts the burdened soul. The gospel humbles the proudest heart. The gospel hardens the unrepentant sinner.

Christ as the Sacrifice for sin fulfilled the demands of God's justice. His works prove that He alone is able to save. Christ as the Savior from sin justifies, sanctifies, and will glorify sinners. He healed our legal wounds in justification (guilt and debt of sin). He is healing our spiritual woulds in sanctification (power of sin).
(HGCBCC Afternoon Message)

None is too wicked that the gracious God cannot save. None is too corrupt that the blood of Christ cannot cleanse and sanctify.
