The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” The LORD sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.

Bella Vista Morning Message: Expository Series on 1 John (Bro. Jeff)
Sermon Text: 1 Jn 2:28
Message: Christ’s appearance is our chief motivation to abide in Christ.
Two reasons why we should remain in Christ:
- We will be confident at Christ’s return
- Abiding in Him breeds confidence on the indefinite return of Christ.
- Christ is coming again and it should urge us to remain in Him all the more!
- We will not be ashamed at Christ’s return
- Ashamed Believers (they works will be burned – 1 Corinthians 3:15)
- Humiliated Unbelievers
- Christ will be ashamed of them – Mark 8:38
- Unbelievers will be ashamed of their works – they will be made public. – Rev 6:15-16
- As Christ’s return is public, so the humiliation of the hypocrites will be made public as well.
True believers have nothing to be ashamed of before the presence of the Lamb because their sins are washed by His blood. You cannot say that you are abiding in Christ if you are not abiding in His word, because Christ is the living word.

The PaedoBaptist Argument considered – Rejected
Passages used by paedobaptists to justify infant baptism:
- 1 Cor 7:14 – the use of the word ‘sanctified’
- But Paul pointed out that the spouse is ‘unbelieving’ thereby rendering a different meaning or else why not baptize that spouse also. This neither justify baptism of an unbelieving spouse! This is because the ‘structure’ of the covenant is changed.
- Matt 19:13-15
- They say this is indication that small children should be baptized citing ‘to such as these’. But first of all, this passage doesnt say anything about baptism at all. Only let the small children come to Him (see also: Matt. 18:3, Matt. 19:15)
SCBC Morning Message: Expository Series on the Book of Romans (Ptr. Jeremiah)
Romans 10:18-21
Why the majority of members of the Kingdom of God are Gentile believers despite them not seeking Him, and not many Jews?
A.W.Tozer: "The cause of unbelief in the heart is always the sin in the life..."
Unbelief stems from a heart that loves sin.
Matthew Henry: "To many.. only the word of grace in their ears but not the work of grace in their hearts." Pride refuses to accept guilt and boasts in religion (religious pride).

OFW Community Service: Expository Series on the Book of Galatians – Ptr. Jeremiah
Galatians 6:11-14
- Understanding the wretchedness of our condition
- To appreciate the cross of Christ, we must understand our wretched condition before the presence of God.
- To see the excellency of the cross drives a nail in any other excellencies.
- Giving up everything to Christ
- If we have seen our wretched condition and Christ as our only confidence we will be willing to give up everything to Christ.
- The cross puts an end to self.
- As Christians… we no longer take comfort in the comforts the world has to offer… because we have been crucified to the world. ~ P. Ryken
It is difficult after sixteen centuries and more during which the cross has been a sacred symbol, to realize the unspeakable horror and loathing which the very mention or thought of the cross provoked in Paul’s day (F. F. Bruce, The Epistle to the Galatians)
The cross of Christ is our only boast! Through the cross, we have the freedom to live an obedient life. May we not boast in other things than the cross of Christ. Now, what is your only boast?
Blessed Lord’s Day!
